Jul. 15th, 2021 09:31 pmA couple of entries down I mentioned the old Wheel of Time books; the other day someone mentioned they’re going to make a TV series of it as soon as Europe, where it’s to film, stops being scared of Covid and lets everyone out of the house. So that’s something you Wheel-watchers may want to keep an eye on. I think Nynaeve should take a vow of silence in the first episode; that’d probably be the only way I’d watch. I can remember skipping a lot of her scenes because she was just so annoying. An annoying hero is rare, but —gaah! But her boyfriend, the Aragorn rip-off, was annoying too, so, although I don’t remember for sure, I hope they lived happily ever after and that their kids were able to get away from them at the first opportunity.
Something old I’d like to see re-filmed—Paul Gallico’s Thomasina, The Cat Who Thought She Was A God, fimed by Walt Disney in the ‘60’s as The Three Lives Of Thomasina. The cat heaven where Bast dwells could be made really impressive these days.
