It’s International Twilight Zone Day! Those who’ve never seen it, I recommend that you remedy that omission ASAP. Find a list of classic episodes and watch those first, then watch the others in any order you like—it’s an anthology series,so no matter what order you watch in, you won’t miss anything important.

I used to live near the time-capsule town of Yellow Springs, Ohio, where Rod Serling taught creative writing for a year or two at then-large Antioch College. When I’d go there I’d get such a kick out of it. “I’m walking the same streets Rod Serling walked. ROD SERLING!”

I don’t know what YS was like in the ‘60’s, but today it’s pretty dilapidated, which is strange because the residents ain’t poor. Houses there average about $400K. I can only guess that the residents believe in shabby chic. I don’t. Having lived in shabby areas myself—and not for reasons of chic!— I much prefer even sidewalks that aren’t crumbling.

Maybe they are working on being a hole in the WHO Blanket. Keep an eye out for EOD and Starry Wisdom.

I wonder if 'The Twilight Zone' riffed any of Lovecraft?
